Zen Cafe: my second (and favorite) coffeeshop venture in the South Bend area. My first visit to Zen was euphoric. It was a Summer day in 2017 & I ordered an iced orange blossom latte with almond milk -- which is still one of the best drinks of my life. Unfortunately, this was a seasonal flavor (one i'm hoping they'll bring back for Spring/Summer 2018, wink wink). They always have a unique house made syrup on-hand so if you're adventurous like me, you're bound to find something yummy anytime you visit. This time around I played it "safe" with an iced mocha and it was hands-down the best mocha i've ever had custom-made using violet sky chocolate.
While the retro-european vibes of the shop itself are enough to make you wanna stop in for a visit, Zen isn't just a cafe. The company first made its debut into the world of coffee as a roastery. You can now find Zen Coffee at several other locations throughout the area including the General Deli (previously featured). If you need more Zen in your life, (don't we all) you can also order a bag of beans online to have in your home/office.
Next time you stop in for a visit be sure to share and use the hashtag #theCoffeePassport for a chance to be featured! I'd love to see how you find your Zen. xo
